We have done some reading programmes and we took note that during the COVID period, there were many statements being made that children, especially from rural areas, did not have access to devices. “As a Kiwanis group, we are familiar with doing work here at Tamarind Hall Library. She pointed out that it was important to form partnerships in the community. Watts Phillips thanked ICAB for securing the funds for the Kiwanis Club to purchase the laptop. It is important and noticeable that this Tamarind Hall Branch has been selected to fulfil these objectives, as children in a rural community must have equal access to technology and facilities of learning,” she said. ![]() “The Kiwanis fill this bill most appropriately, as they too have a renewed focus on literacy, the library, and reading programmes for children at the library. She noted that “in a continuously changing landscape, the public library has prioritised to raise its focus on partnerships with community stakeholders in order to renew the focus on literacy and children”.
